More Memories

My memories of Uncle Herman and Aunt Louise go back to the Farm located South of St. Joseph, Mo.   My Mother and I would go to the Farm several times a year and stay for 2 or 3 days.  We would always go for the Fourth of July because we could have fire works and Uncle Herman always had a good supply of fire works.  We could set off the fire works out in the yard at dusk and enjoy the evening.  Another good time was had in the Fall of the year when the crops were harvested there was a Square Dance held at the House. A Neighbor by the name of Kyle Foster called the Square Dance and some of the other Neighbors furnished the Music. A good time was had by all and there was a keg of beer on tap and us kids could always find a cup or glass with some beer it.  I always enjoyed visiting and playing with Junior ( Herman, Jr. ) Helen, Betty and Cookie. I have a lot of good memories of the Farm and Uncle Herman and Aunt Louise.  Thanks for letting Me share some of the good times of  the past.                     Eugene Kerber, Nephew

I have a lot of memories of grandma and pa. In fact all my or most of mine are of them and my childhood at the Kerbers'.... me and Lynn were always together in fact 2nd graded went to her school and grandma gave me a round cookie tin with a handle for my lunchbox and
of course the  kids made fun of me and it but loved it. She also gave us peanut butter kisses between or b4 Halloween as they were from the previous Halloween but we didn't mind. And of course the pin curls, deep freeze room and the funny slimmey soap she made. She and
all the Kerbers' gave me the love and support I needed and I still think of it all and love them still. And the cake Aunt Cookie made me wasn't very old but remember it and her she was so sweet to me as Aunt Helen was and Uncle Herman.
Love to you all
Cindy Commons, (Betty's step-daughter - but a family member to all of us who accept her as a cousin)
